I purchased this due to the quality reviews and have not been disappointed.

I charged the unit for the duration of one night and it was amazing. I’ve started assorted cars including my sisters jeep that had been sitting with the battery dead over a month. It started the Jeep in a few seconds. We retained the engine going for 10 minutes and then stopped the car. Without it being connected to the starter/Shumacher power source, the battery was so dead that it didn’t even have enough power to turn on the dome light!

You keep this in your trunk and when you want to jump a car, you fetch it next to your battery. Attach the positive and negative connectors to your cars battery and it starts in an instant. It is amazing. It in addition has a meter to show whether or not it needs to be charged and it has a bright light that may be turned on when it’s dark outside, peculiarly during a rain storm.

If you have a child in college or at home that drives, this is a require to have. With so some dangerous situations with young college girls, this may bring them piece of mind. Obviously it’s for anyone; wife, husband, or child.

This item does incisively what it says it will do. It’s very simple to utilized Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Take out of box, then plug in for 36 hours. That’s it is Done! Now, after we charged it for 36 hours we took it outside to our daughters car which was dead Since May 1st, 2011. Nearly two months. Wham, this small sucker boosted it immediately without being plugged into electricity. It has an internal battery. It may Boost or do over night slow recharges. It has a nifty built in light for those pesky jobs that are done after dark.

All in all, may wanna give this small thing a shot. Well worth the money, at least it was for us!

I purchased the #400 unit. There are apparently TWO bigger larger bigger units. The manufacturer uses the same manual for all 3 models and referrences numerous items, meters, lights, switches, etc. that are not on this unit. I will carry this as an emergency unit and have no idea when I’ll use it is Hopefully, it will be a good source of backup power when needed.

My Ford Taurus does not like to start out in the cold. I have utilized this twice and it started right up. I thought the directions were vague to a non-mechanic and had to look online to see how it is done. This video from ehow was very helpful, google this title:

Not only have I asked that of this product, but I’ve also used it to jump my pickup truck multiple times in the same day (an unsolved issue with my truck that just went away on its it is without re-charging it, and all of this after the unit sat in my truck, in temperatures arraying from negative 5 degrees up to 85 degrees, for months without being charged. No, I’m not kidding, it’s that good.

While I have not had to use this unit so far I’m very pleased with the low price and most of the design features. The only two suggestions I might make for betterment would be to make the connecters a little longer as they are very short and to make the recharge connection at the rear more convenient so that an extension doesn’t have to be used to recharge the unit.

This product falls below the brilliantly mute category. Seems well built and a solid product; however, the prongs in the back to plug in do not extend. It is impossible impossible I’m conscious aware to charge it any other way than an extension cable. I’m stuck with it, but had I known this I would not have purchased.
