I’ve applied inexpensive blow-dryers for decades (my two most recent are a Conair Ionic Cord-keeper and a compact Vidal Sassoon, both 1875 watts) but upon using this model, I’m a convert to you-get-what-you-pay-for.

This Remington is the common professional shape (not collapsible), with the usual heat choices options warm, hot; plus a button for a burst of cold), airflow options choices and high; the enclosed concentrator and diffuser may be attached to further custommake the airflow), and 1875 watts.

But that’s the end of “standard.” This model is somewhat heavier than my other dryers, the weight being a sturdier motor that’s warranted for 4 years. The motor makes it the basi dryer with sufficient oomph that I may hold it the recommended 8-inches away from my head and still get swell heat and airflow to my hair. (And it’s the original time the tips of my thumb and index finger are healing; they were constantly arid and cracked from requiring to hold my old blow-dryers too close to my hand that contains the styling brush.) It has a fabulous surface — a sort of velvety-smooth composite that brings when it comes to just the slightest bit of drag so the dryer doesn’t slide around or off a countertop. And the best? It’s the quietest blow-dryer I’ve heard, made even better by a pitch that’s low and whooshy, not high and whiney. Oh-so-highly recommended!

These are all swell features, but the most essential portion is how it in truth dries hair. I have very fine hair and feel that it is much softer and more manageable than with my old dryer. I even borrowed my husbands head to see how the diffuser worked. I did have to put the fan setting on high in order to feel I was becoming decent air through the attachment, but overall his hair had more volume, and he did not complain of hot air burn.

This is a good dryer while it lasts. Quiet, good heat, not too heavy. But I have owned it less than six months and yesterday it halted developing heat, just blew cold air.

Update: I just called Remington. They warranty the product for three years and are sending me a new dryer. No hassle.

My old salon quality dryer broke and I had to find a replacement. My criteria? It must arid fairly quickly, straighten my thick wavy hair without too much damage, have a longer cord and cost $40 or less.

I began by purchasing the highly ranked Revlon RV544. It worked just “OK”. The fatal flaw with that model was the short cord. It was only about 6 feet long and it wouldn’t reach throughout our deep countertop to where I needed to use its Not wanting to use an extension cord with this appliance, I tried to plug it into my makeup mirror to overcome the short cord. The way the plug is designed, it utterly would not stay plugged into the makeup mirror and fell out multiple times every time I tried to dry my hair. I only applied this dryer for a week, but my hair began to look dull and I wondered what long term use of this dryer would do to its Back to the store.

This time I purchased the Conair 259 Infiniti Pro which came well recommended. Another disappointment. It had a short cord, was extremely earsplitting and it scarcely heated up enough to dry my hair.

My last attempt was the Remington Studion Collection Pearl Ceramic Hair Dryer. After using it for a month, I love it! My hair dries in a fair quantity of time, it looks sleek, glossy and to be in excellent condition. The dryer is not overly earsplitting piercing I wouldn’t call it quiet either), the cord is longer than most standard dryers and it was in my price range. I in truth don’t see how my hair could look better even if I used a $200 dryer. I would highly commend this dryer.

While I do like this hair dryer, the one issue that I have with it is that the off/on switch is on the handle and I always without intention hit it, which turns it down or off. I wished they’d moved the switch up a small higher.

That being said, it is a powerful dryer that gets the job done. It’s rapidly and without delay than my old one and as well a bit bigger. I won’t fear overloading the dryer if I use it too much because my hair dries in no time, which isn’t an easy feat since my hair is thick.

If they would just move the off/on switch to a place where it won’t be accidentally turned off, then I would have given it five stars.

I stored my old one underneath my sink and the shell became sticky to the point I didn’t want to use its This one seems to have a skin of the same material on the outside. I will store this in my closet and not in the bathroom where there is too much heat. I like the fact it is smaller than other hairdryers I have owned, that it comes with various settings like cold and hot air at different speeds and has a cleanable filter, such little extras do add up. Plus it is a in truth attractive hairdryer, with its pink metal and almost black-burgundy skin. The plug has a reset on it too, which is nice. such a good deal of hairdryers I’ve had have not had this options It dries my overly thick curly hair very well. It has an attachment for drying curly hair and as well a more typical one for when I want to dry it straighter in order to use my flat iron on my hair once it is dry. I have very long hair, so this does the trick and this hair dryer is finelooking light and easy to use, much more than my previous Conair one. It is more quiet too. It’s less hassle drying my hair with this than with other dryers I have owned. The reason this gets a four star ranking rather than a five is the shell, which I have to store in my closet or else the heat will make it sticky in a few years and the fact it took me some time to get used to the pearl atoms when the dryer is on since it smells a bit odd, like burning rock.

The most interesting thing about this dryer was reading the warnings in the box. One of the warnings says, “Do Not Use While Sleeping”, which I still have to figure out. Is that even possible? Sleep hair drying? One has to wonder what happened in order for the company to put that on their warning list. It is a nice hairdryer for the money, just don’t use it after you go to bed and commence sleeping.
