What a disappointment!!!!!!!!

I couldn’t believe it when I opened the box. First of all, there was no invoice so I couldn’t return them. The box itself obviously had been knocked about. The boards themselves were a GREAT disappointment. Some were already coming apart or broken before taking off the plastic. The sides came off of some when the plastic was removed. A few of them have stayed relatively intact. I have a small class and I told them that as they fall apart, which they do quite readily, we will just toss them and they could get a new one. On a positive note, the marker works quite well. I highly recommend that you save your money and not even consider buying this product. This is the first disappointing experience I have had purchasing anything on Amazon.

It Writes – It’s Comfortable

My wife uses these in her business where there lot’s of pen thieves. They are comfortable to write with and write smoothly. They also dissapear, evidently, even the thieves like them. For everyday office use, these are fine.
If you want a pen that writes smoother and the ink dries immediately, check out the Pentel EnerGel Liquid Gel Ink, Model BL-77. This is the one I use everyday.
The Uniball Signo 207 is a good pen too, but the ink does not dry as fast, and if you’re left handeed, you’re going to have smudges as your writing hand drags across the ink.
STAY AWAY FROM THE PILOT G-2 PEN. It has a terrible tendency to leak on airplanes.

I’m picky about pens. I like them to write smooth and consistent. I happened along this pen by accident. (Not sure where I picked it up from.) It had me hooked right away. My writing even looked neater than usual! Since pens disappear quickly, I’m hoping the pack of 96 lasts a while.

Writes well, okay to let someone “borrow”

I use pens a lot… all day at work and sometimes at home. In fact, at work, my documentation is pretty much with pen and paper and no computer. So, I’m much more likely to use a pen’s ink up than lose it. Since I write so much, I appreciate a good pen. Since I work in multiple places and never know when someone is going to “borrow” a pen, I appreciate a cheap pen. This BIC is a good pen for both smooth writing and cheap. Out of all the BIC med soft grip ultra’s I’ve used, I think I’ve only had one where the pen didn’t write that smoothly. If you lose it or someone “borrows” it, no sweat… it’s practically disposable anyway.

Excellent product

I am an English major, so suffice to say, I do a fair amount of writing (yes, even by hand in these days of the ubiquitous keyboard). I have used three or four different Waterman models in the past and one lesser Cross fountain pen (I am also a fan of Pilot’s Varsity disposable fountain). However, out of all of these, the Lamy Safari is the one I carry with me everywhere I go – the one I rely upon. In college I write with nothing else. The fin nib lies down a generous line of ink, always flows well, and requires almost no pressure in writing. The pressure required is perhaps 1/5 the amount you would apply on a typical ball point pen. What does this mean? A cleaner line, smoother looking script, and most importantly – little to no hand fatigue, even after pages of writing.

The Lamy inks are great, but if you are a heavy user I would invest a few dollars and buy a converter, then any ink may be used in this pen. ***MAKE SURE YOU USE FOUNTAIN PEN INK*** This goes for any fountain pen you ever use. If you use regular old black India ink or what have you it will gum up your pen and disrupt the flow badly, requiring a flushing or two (and the pen may never be quite the same). Stick with the Lamy ink or use Noodler’s (which is the best) in the converter.

I have purchased three of these Lamy Safari’s (I really like the yellow) and, as a heavy fountain pen user, highly recommend them.

Great Pen for the Price

After falling in love with a fountain pen a friend gave me I wanted to buy some more. I decided on the Lamy Safari, I read many reviews stating how great the pen is and I liked the bright color.

The packaging is pretty basic, with just the pen and a warranty card. The pen itself is a little light(weight) for my tastes, but overall it is solid. The width and grip are very nice feeling in my hand. I also like the cap, clip, and ink window, they are nice touches that give the pen lots of character. I went with “fine” nib out of the blue because I had mostly used medium nib pens and on cheap paper I noticed lots of feathering. Upon writing I found the tip to be very scratchy, rather than smooth. After a few days of waiting the Z24 converter came in the mail so I could fill it with my own ink. I have to say my ink makes the pen flow MUCH better than the stuff included with the cartridge(I used Noodler’s Polar Blue).

Pros:
Inexpensive
Looks great
Nice stroke
Good flow(with better ink)
Comfortable Grip

Cons:
Too light
I really wish it came with a Z24 ink converter, cartridges suck and are really wasteful
A bit scratchy with included ink

If you want a quality pen for little money I recommend this pen enthusiastically, just buy a bottle of ink and an ink converter.

Pen works fantastically. I bought a “fine” nib and anticipated a line thickness comparable to what pilot pens call “fine”. The lines are rather thicker than I expected. So maybe consider getting the extra fine nib.

Good for a while.. then they go bad

I bought these markers to use on plastic. They worked great for a while, but then they start to drip out of the pens. The extra fine pens seem to be better on colored paper than the fine markers.. crazy huh?

The metallic ones are terrific, but beware of the ink leak for ALL the colors. I have tried the Sharpie Oil Paint pens, but these are better!

I bought this marker set because I’m beginning to do a lot of scrapbooking, and I wanted something that I could use to write on colored paper (particularly black), photographs, and magazine pictures. Unfortunately, these markers are poor on all 3 mediums listed.

They write ok on colored paper but not great on black paper. They are ok on photographs and magazine pictures but sometimes the ink will glob up and not stay in the whole area you wrote in.

However, these markers are great if legibility is not important (like if you’re just coloring in something). Also, the silver and gold markers are SPECTACULAR! They show up beautifully on any medium, and they appear truly metallic. I would buy the whole set just for these 2 markers.

These were well worth the price. So many colors to choose. Like a zillion!!! More colors than the eye can capture, some of them are so close, they are almost alike, yet when you need that slight variation, they are great.

So light weight durable and blendable. However, they run out rather quickly. I do detail work and must use a fine point, so, yes, they are much better for blunt broad spectrum work. They are run into stub quickly and need sharpening. One pencil usually only lasts thru two or maybe more sketchings.

Compared to Pentel

This Maped eraser works better than the erasers that come on the end of pencils but not as well as the Pentel Hi-Polymer Eraser. It doesn’t leave a residue, it doesn’t take the paper with it. That’s great, but it doesn’t erase as completely as the Pentel.

I like the holder and was hoping to put a Pentel eraser into it, but the Pentel erasers are a little to big. When all is said and done, the holder is just a little gadget that isn’t necessary. I’d take the Pentel eraser over Maped, and I’d choose the Maped over the pencil top erasers.

perfect for rectangle erasers

As homeschoolers, we often use the rectangular erasers. I wasn’t aware they made holders for them until Amazon showcased it at check-out one day. I now have 2 of them. They do exactly what they say and show. It’s nothing fantastical, however it does allow you to get to the end of your eraser without it breaking in half or breaking down prematurely.

I am commenting on this as an art tool – not as an eraser for, say, a grocery list. It was smeary and clearly not as good as Pentel or Prismacolor erasers. My kids use it for homework so it is not horrible, just not good enough for my needs. The holder is cool though.

Pretty paperweights. Useless “highlighting”.

When they did work, they highlighted (blacked out!) WAY TOO DARK so you could barely read the text through the darker colors (purple, I had one pack w/a blue in it, etc). Then they dried out COMPLETELY after just a few weeks of extremely minimal use.

Who ever thought you’d need to read a review about a highlighter!?
